James Hillman, an American psychologist, would interpret 'discord' from the perspective of archetypal psychology, where every image, or archetype, in a dream has its unique significance. So, the symbol 'discord' in a dream would be seen as an expression of the soul's complexity, not as a problem to be solved, but as an invitation to develop a deep relationship with the multiplicity and contradictions inherent in one's psyche. Ancient Greek Interpretation:

In Greek tradition, 'Eris' is the goddess of discord and strife. A potent figure indeed, who led to the Trojan War by causing strife among goddesses. Hence, the symbol 'discord' can be understood as an embodiment of deep-striving conflict, quarrels, and rivalry, often leading to transformative events.

Morphology:

Discord, as a symbol, lends itself to a variety of forms and manifestations across cultures. However, its core essence remains the representation of tension, disagreement, and conflict. Visually, it often takes the form of items in disarray, clashing colors or motifs, broken objects, or scenes of argument or war.
